One of the best finals I've ever seen, only slightly ruined by the tie-break at 6-6 in the 5th. Ridiculous rule. That match had so much more to give.

I can't believe how slow this match is between Zverev and Djokovic. Both not wanting to give anything to the other to counter punch with, which is odd given everyone complaining that the only way you can win these days is with brute force

A sobering realisation that I'm becoming incredibly middle aged when the thought of peak strawberry season is exciting me

Quite frankly ridiculous that the race was red flagged before drivers were even on the full wet tyre

I rarely post anymore about what TV I watch, but thought I'd mention that I enjoyed S3 of White Lotus, pacing was superb, however I've felt in all three seasons that Mike White struggles to tie it all together right to stick the landing. Although given his all-star series comment, maybe by design?

Only a surprise to some of us

Charles you will not have the drink
Leclerc asks if there's a leakage because his seat is full of water

Engineer: "Must be the water"

Leclerc: "Let's add that to the words of wisdom"

Verstappen a bit desperate there looking for standing water off-line on that exit kerb. Brave move, let's see if that pays off.

Today just being another reminder that the quality of wet weather driving has significantly reduced in F1 over the course of the last 15 years, especially in relation to the introduction of control tyres, but also the ease by which they delay things. Gives zero incentive to drive to conditions

Very much a 'I prefer not to speak' moment on this, but it's definitely unsurprising in how it played out. No-one comes out of this looking good.
Jannik Sinner and WADA have agreed on a deal: Sinner accepted an immediate three-month ban to settle the case. Sinner now suspended until May 4th, will be back on time for Roland-Garros. I take that both sides weren’t confident in winning at CAS so they saved what could be in advance.

I suppose a tailspin does involve turning around

Did I hear that correct from Zverev where he was requesting 15.9-16.9 (presumably kg) on his stringing setup?! I know the balls are playing slower but that's a butterfly net, not a racquet!
January 26, 2025 at 9:26 AM
I do wonder if that would have happened more during Djokovic's career had he had to play more day matches

Fundamentally AdM faces the same issue Hewitt did when Federer, Safin and to some extent Roddick came along in that he was too lightweight to deal with them and wasn't technical enough to cope with the clay court specialists on clay. Got caught in a bit of a no man's land and that's where AdM is
It's always going to be the question with AdM's game, as disheartening as it is - however much he's extracted the maximum from it, it's only going to get him to a certain level at GS events. Wheareas for a Hewitt, his return game/court coverage was like he came from Mars against players of that era.

Serve the big difference between Alcaraz and Novak, given the effort made by Carlos' team over the winter to fix that longstanding issue they'll be quite disappointed with the level when it mattered most

Kind of cute how everyone has cliqued themselves into starter pack communities. This must have been how hamlets started in Anglo-Saxon times
