Those of you standing in long lines for municipal elections in Alberta today:

1) stay in line; your voice matters
2) the long lines are a direct consequence of the conspiracy-driven policy changes brought forward by the UCP government (and not your beleaguered election workers); be kind

Anyone know/recall if the amount Cowboys is paying for this sponsorship was ever made public?
This removal of park space in the name of sponsorship dollars really misses the mark. As we are seeing residential redevelopment increasing in the west end of downtown #yyc, these park spaces need to be accessible and not designed purely for single events. www.ctvnews.ca/calgary/vide...
City to pave over, remove most Cowboys Park green space
The City of Calgary plans to pave over and remove 70 per cent of the green space at Cowboys Park, to the disappointment of festival organizers.

today's essential read for all Albertans.
"This sets the stage for watching both the horror show happening south of the border as well as the alleged shenanigans closer to come by telling readers a bit about the connection between populism and corruption."

Hey transpo folks! Do you have a go-to diagram, image, or some other visual aid that shows the importance of having a multi-modal transportation network?

Something that emphasizes resiliency, meeting different needs, access, etc.

CC @brenttoderian.bsky.social who always has good visual aids.

Working in downtown #yyc, I think about this movie all the time. "Four young office workers have a bet going to see who can last the longest without going outside. In the maze that is the downtown core of a large city, glass skywalks connect apartment buildings, office towers and shopping malls."
Hey #yyc!

The Downtown Core Neighbourhood Association is co-hosting a screening of the classic downtown Calgary film "waydowntown" at the Globe Theatre on Sunday, February 9th, featuring a panel with director Gary Burns!

Libraries are the best thing about society. I will not be taking questions at this time.
This is your reminder to get a library card. They have so many services and basically all of them are free.
