Oh, Glen Powell is speaking my love language.

Literally, get me talking about movies, and you can't get me to shut up! 🥰

I just got out of the theatre after seeing #TheRunningMan. Goodness. It was worth the hype and then some. The acting was superb. The music, cinematography, directing, storytelling, just what we needed. In anyone else's hands (in front and behind the screen), I don't think it has the same gravitas.

I love the comparison to "North by Northwest" by Joseph Kahn (via X). That film was an absolute smash hit for Hitchcock in 1959 (one which has continued to hold sway for the last 66 years of cinema).

I have high hopes for "The Running Man." This is going to be one for the ages #RunningManMovie

When we talk about the slow erosion of democracy, this is what we're talking about. If you can't win by honest means, this is what you do. And with a majority, this will likely get passed. Elections have consequences. And here in Ontario, we're seeing this play out in real-time #onpoli

Not gonna lie, as someone who is deeply entrenched in all things politics (I mean, I must be a glutton for punishment, as I did two degrees in political science and one in political management 😂), this take is refreshing and I need this man in my life (if only to offer the balance I need, lol).

The definitive film Hamlet for me has always been the Kenneth Brannagh led & directed epic from 1996, but I have to say, I've found one that rivals it; & in black & white, gives it somehow, more gravitas, suspense & dramatic impact. Christopher Plummer. 1964. "Hamlet at Elsinore" #ClassicFilmSunday

I just finished watching "The High Commissioner" (also known as "Nobody Runs Forever"). Starring Rod Taylor and Christopher Plummer, this political neo noir spy thriller is just the right amount of suspense and intrigue, with a dash of debonair. A sleeper hit worth watching #ClassicFilmSunday

It's taken me years, but I'm finally settling into my first ever reading of "Jane Eyre." And I know I will be forever changed upon completing it. #Booksky #Bronte #GothicRomance

Saw the new Robert De Niro film, "The Alto Knights." And yes, he plays the two lead roles. Which he was incredible at, by the way.

Need a good film to see in theatres this weekend? I'd recommend this one #Filmsky #Movies #TheAltoKnights

Started this week into my next book (after about a month's hiatus since finishing #Rivals 🥰), and I'm really loving it. The latest in Tessa Bailey's "Big Shots" series is #DreamGirlDrama. It's so good, and Sig and Chloe are my new fave slow burn romance. 10/10 definitely recommend. #Romance #Booksky

In honour of the 212th anniversary of Jane Austen's #PrideandPrejudice, I present to you my very well loved copy of her novel. You know it's your favourite when it's well loved 🥰 #JaneAusten #booksky

My current holiday read. Can't get enough of #Rivals, so I had to dig into the book that inspired the show. Dame Jilly Cooper wrote quite the tome.

Also, a warm cup of tea is always a good idea while reading.

If you think he's joking, I'd like to tell you he very likely isn't. This is the most serious threat to our national security at the moment. Super dangerous precipice we're on. And one I don't wish to cross #cdnpoli

How I feel right now about the British show #Rivals on @disneyplustr.bsky.social.

(I will say, I'm not actually alone in this sentiment, but it does feel like it) 😁

As someone (me) who was diagnosed with PCOS in her early 20s, this and other reproductive health issues need to be more widely discussed. I appreciate Florence Pugh using her platform to talk about her own journey. Can't wait to listen to the SHE MD podcast episode.
