One more. (It is obvious by this thread I’m missing the social Internet and a place for my ramblings.) I quit Twitter and TikTok fine. Bc those truly did feel like sugar water to me. But Facebook and IG continue to have enough positive elements that I struggle disconnecting completely from them.

Also, as someone who is just a hair older than @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social but who also struggled with smoking in my youth…this video felt almost targeted 🤣

USAID matters. I've often disagreed with their strategy and choices, but their work saves more lives than any philanthropy can. It's a rounding error in the federal budget, and one of the best things we do as a country. To see it destroyed overnight by one unelected man is an unmitigated horror.
