I assume you've already seen Bros - me and T watched it for the first time recently and it's much queerer than I expected!

My argument against it is that if drivers get used to looking out for hi-viz they might miss cyclists not wearing it. By the same logic, I don't think cars should be allowed to use headlights in built-up areas because not everyone else they might encounter will have lights (e.g. pedestrians).

Parking on the road - particularly partially blocking the pavement - should not be allowed. Storing anything else on public property is fly-tipping, why are cars different? And yes, that would mean lots of homes wouldn't have anywhere to store a car, so that's why we'd also improve public transport.

I've got a scrappy first draft of a book about a surrogate (_loosely_ based on my own experience) but I had to put it aside because my health deteriorated too much to be able to work on it. I'd love to get back to it!

My Dad said the same thing when I was little; I still think of this poem every time someone says "right of way": literature.stackexchange.com/a/24758
What's the first appearance of the rhyme about "He died defending his right of way"?
There's a little poem that goes something like this: Here lies the body of Thomas Grey, Who died defending his right of way. He was perfectly right as he sped along, But he's just as dead as if he'd

Brains are so different! If I go deep into it, I just get stuck.

I've discovered reacting to my worry in a sensory way (eg a nice smell, soft fabric, good view etc) helps a lot more than any cognitive redirection.

I recommend Horspath for a future weekend - it's on the 46 bus route and the surrounding area has some lovely footpaths!
