Good morning, Womble! Today I am reading The Notorious Scarlett & Browne by Jonathan Stroud and listening to The Red Queen by Isobelle Carmody.

I keep my TBR in copyright date order and always read the oldest first (unless I have a good reason to do otherwise). Stops me standing, staring and dithering - most of the time 😃

Good morning, Womble. I’m reading The Book That Wouldn’t Burn by Mark Lawrence. I’m enjoying the story, but snippets from books at the beginning of each chapter are amusing me enormously!

Whilst you’re here, pop into Basingstoke Discovery Centre (town library). They have a huge local history section and local newspapers on microfiche going back decades!

Loved Fledgling - wish she’d lived to write a sequel 🥺
Enjoyed Sparrow House, too.

Good morning, Womble. My phone just autocorrected you to Wimbledon - seemed appropriate enough. I am reading Anne of Avonlea by L M Montgomery and have just finished listening to Parable of the Sower by Octavia E Butler. Such a powerful writer and a Lynne Thigpen narrates brilliantly.

Time to put away my summer perfume and dig out my autumn scent. Some people do that with the clothes in their wardrobe, but this is England, so layers work for me all year round.

I’d love to, but I don’t have any pictures of my (illegal immigrant) great grandfather 🥺

OK, I’m weird. I LOVE admin days - so much so that I do admin every Monday to start my week off right 😇
