17 year old Jackie Mitchell struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in 1931.
Ruth's fee fees were hurt and threw a tantrum on how women were too delicate to play baseball. Due to his toddler like antics, women were banned from being signed in the MLB 1992.

![A few days after Mitchell struck out Ruth and Gehrig, baseball commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis voided her contract and declared that women were unfit to play baseball as the game was "too strenuous."[5][12] However, Mitchell continued to play professionally, barnstorming with the House of David, a men's team famous for their very long hair and long beards. 13) While traveling with the House of David team, she would sometimes wear a fake beard for publicity. [14]
Mitchell retired in 1937 at the age of 23 after
becoming furious since her story about playing baseball was being used as something of a side show - once being asked to pitch while riding a donkey. [12] She refused to come out of retirement when the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League formed in 1943.[14 Major League Baseball would formally ban the signing of women to contracts on June 21, 1952, [12] The ban lasted until 1992 when Carey Schueler was drafted by the Chicago White Sox for the 1993 season. Going to the Verizon FanFest thing this afternoon and then watching the Super Bowl with my parents. Excited to relax

Got up at 5:30, and went to Hyvee to find lefse for my mother. Got to the gym by 7, did my workout, and then grabbed a coffee at Caribou and deposited a check. Made it to my parents to decorate cookies at 8am and now home and showered. Phew!

Wow. I adored #SkeletonCrew 's first episode. It felt like I was a kid again playing star wars with my brother in the backyard after my dad showed it to us and bought us toys. It has such a fun Goonies feel to it and I adore Neel so much 🥹 Episode 2 was also great and set a tone for the season!

Well, I finally finished Voltron before it leaves Netflix. Bro loved it and harassed me to watch it. I started it forever ago and fell off.

Got my ticket to go see #Wicked with my mom and dad on Thursday! I had to explain to my mom that they do Thursday evening showings (better than 20 yrs ago seeing them at exactly midnight). Then had to explain her 2pm hair appt was fine bc I would still be at work 🤦🏼♀️ I can't wait though!

I am kinda hyped that every week in Dec up to Christmas I have some sort of ⚾️ party to go to. Worked out quite nicely. I get why parties are held on a week night, but makes me sleepy for the next day.
