hi!! just recently moved from instagram to a (hopefully) more forgiving platform! some of my favorite work to introduce me

finally done with a long and stressful week, “celebrated” by getting around to sorting OLD (and mediocre) pictures. tedious but made me realize how much i miss the fun dudes on the TX coast 🫶
four laughing gulls in a line on an overcast day, standing on wooden railing, getting progressively blurrier the further down the line they go. first is in sharp clarity and, like the others, sports grey wings, a white neck and breast, a black head, and white eyelashes. Their beaks are a darker red with a black tip. a least bittern perches on a reed. it is colorful— tan to reddish from the cheeks down the neck, white on the throat, deep blue cap and wings, and a pink face, fading to orange down the beak. it’s a sunny day, the reeds and bittern are partially shadowed. reddish egret hunting and in motion, mid step, leaning heavily to the right side, arms out in an “airplane” fashion. Greyer on the wings and a reddish-brown on the neck. Gets less saturated towards the face. the sun is just beginning to set, painting it in slightly-golden light. a magnificent frigatebird, still juvenile but getting its adult plumage. breast and face are still white, with some mottled, barely-there brown coming in. beak is bluish-white, and mouth is open, balancing a stick. dark brown wings are in mid flight.

just got this shot of two collared doves in my tree! the male used to show up by himself but recently he’s found a mate :3

what today’s supervised outside time with my all-white cat looks like.

Here are some pictures of the leucistic wood duck. Unfortunately I got to the park right after the sun had set over the mountain behind it, but I'm definitely hoping to go back down in 2 wks. In the 10 minutes that we were there it did all the fun duck things. Just a great subject for photography 🪶
