Exactly! Stopping on the way home to get legless is much more straightforward.
American cities are mapped out differently and everyone drives everywhere anyway. Easy enough to bounce home and then bounce out again.

my guess is half of why. the pub where you want to be is a straight shot on the way home; doing the yo-yo does not appeal.
