White text on black background We're heading into a dangerous place for food insecurity in America. The government shutdown means that November SNAP benefits will likely be delayed, or not show up at all. There are 42 million people on SNAP. 90% of SNAP households include children, disabled, or elderly folks. 80% of SNAP households spend their entire monthly deposit in the first 10 days - this is not money they are receiving in excess. By the end of each month, hunger, stress, and hardship spike. If November's SNAP deposits are delayed, the effect will be devastating. Families will face impossible choices between food, rent, and medicine. Parents will skip meals to make sure their kids can eat. This is America. If you're able, consider donating to your local food bank this month. They'll be the first line of defense for millions of families.

See if you have a Sinclair or nexstar station in your area. 2. Watch the local newscast tonight or some time this week. 3. Note the companies that bought tv adverts. 4. Call them and let them know you will boycott them until they quit supporting that media company. Trust me. I worked in tv for 45 years. Nothing you do will have greater impact. Nothing. This is a much more effective tool than cancelling Disney. We did cancel Disney but calling Joe’s Jeep dealership who is buying adds on the local nexstar station will have a BIG impact. Joe doesn’t need that grief. He will find another station to buy adverts on.

welp. Looks like the reason they were saying "transgender ideology" was because of a stamp on the bullet which is common (one said "lots of mfrs" another said "a Turkish company", I dunno). I assume this was posted elsewhere in the thread....From Rebecca Solnit:

Americans - know your rights: memo explaining what powers do / do not adhere to ICE warrants. Now with alt text.
THE BASICS ON ICE WARRANTS & ICE DETAINERS An ICE or admin. immigration warrant is a form issued by certain ofcrs that names an allegedly deportable non-citizen & directs fed immigration enforcmt agents (IEA) to arrest that individual. Annotated exmpl: https://www.ilrc.org/annotated-ice-administrative-warrants-2017 Issued for civil violations of immigration law, not criminal charges. NOT a real warrant - not reviewed by a judge/any neutral party to determine probable cause. More on authority: https://www.ilrc.org/legal-analysis-ice-warrants What it does: It directs fed IEAs to arrest the person named in the warrant. Because not issued by a judge, it does not give the IEA the authority to demand entry to a private space to make the arrest. They do not generally provide a basis for locals (LLE/LEA) to arrest/detain. Only a specific list of federal IEAs are to execute ICE warrants. https://www.ilrc.org/annotated-ice-administrative-warrants-2017 ICE warrant is directed only @ authorized DHS officials, while an ICE detainer is a request directed to other LEA. Annotated exmpl: https://www.ilrc.org/annotated-detainer-form-2017 New policy Mar’17 re: immigration detainees & ICE warrants directs that all ICE detainers shall be accompanied by warrants signed by an authorized ICE officer. New policy: https://www.ice.gov/detainer-policy Both detainer & warrant do not provide probable cause of a crime. Neither meets 4th Amdt requirements for arrest nor provides authority for LLE to arrest/detain. The combination of both documents together does not add any new requirements for local agencies. More analysis of legality: https://www.ilrc.org/legal-analysis-ice-warrants ICE brings detainer w/warrant on an enforcmt. action. ICE warrants do not provide xtra enforcement authority, but ICE may sometimes issue b4 making arrests @ homes/in the street. Because these “warrants” are issued by ICE officers, not a judge, they do not give authority to enter private spaces w/o consent.

I'm not sure this is actually from a post by @joyannreid.bsky.social since I can't find such a post, but there's some good advice here, as well as resources to find rallies.
IF MARTIAL LAW IS DECLARED, HERE'S WHAT IT ACTUALLY MEANS: IN CALIFORNIA: • Civilian rights are suspended. • The military replaces local law enforcement. • Curfews, checkpoints, detainments without warrants. • Protests can be forcefully ended, and the media can be censored. • You no longer have the right to assemble or speak freely NATIONWIDE: • If California is the blueprint, other states could follow. • The Insurrection Act can override governors. • Democracy is bypassed, and direct federal control expands. • Elections, media, public gatherings? At risk. THIS IS HOW TOTALITARIAN REGIMES BEGIN: • Create chaos. • Deploy a force "to keep peace". • Silence the loudest voices. • Use fear to control the rest. This is not about protection. It's about power.
