text message tapbacks are bad. especially in group chats. they don’t add anything, people treat them as obligatory in friendly threads, and they steal your attention with the same notification priority as an actual message a human wrote for you

new rule for me. if you’re dunking on a screenshot of a tweet, you’re muted. i don’t need that energy in my blue skies
December 3, 2024 at 5:12 PM
there’s gotta be a term for the uncanny valley that every ai email in marketing seems to fall into

the apple ads also show emails nobody would ever send
Cracking up at the Browser Company CEO Josh Miller using AI to write an email to his wife that starts off with, "I hope you're doing well."

i would love ai-powered muting. as in, i want to mute a person—not just his posts, but posts about him, posts with a photo of him, posts discussing him without naming him, posts discussing his project, etc.

arbitraging content between twitter and bluesky
November 21, 2024 at 5:32 PM
i’m sure a lot of people enjoyed great accounts such as “no context war videos” or “t-shirts that will beat your ass”
My take on the is-Bluesky-a-filter-bubble debate: Journalists and public figures would do well to immerse themselves in a diverse mix of views.

But for ordinary people, social media is a lot more enjoyable as amiable interactions rather than gladiatorial ideological conflict and constant ragebait.

November 15, 2024 at 8:42 PM
i think a big reason people are fleeing the other site is that nearly every big tweet has nothing but ai comments underneath it

it feels like a painful shock to me when i realize i’ve wasted seconds of my life reading an ai generated comment
