Shame and yet hopefulness. In the midst of one of the most ideologically and socially disgusting administrations in my lifetime, I also see immense pushback, and new grassroots movements starting up that I believe may change this country into something wonderful. I still believe we can be better.

Oh my gosh man, my wife and I just rewatched that movie recently. I'd actually forgotten how much it FEELS like a documentary. I had also forgotten that the actors actually wrote/played all the songs for the film. Talk about a rare assemblage of talent. Brilliant!

Aka aging my amigo. As a dad in his 40s, I feel your pain. The ongoing battle between being cool, and having comfort and convenience rages on. Acceptance is so important, embrace the season you're in with gratitude, and just let it be. Besides athletic shoes are rad!

Bro! I love FIF. "Mr. Fahrenheit" was the song that began to change my views on the LGBTQIA+ community

The fact that we have multiple holidays honoring our military and multiple holidays honoring our presidents (neither of which I'm against) but people are complaining about having one holiday where we celebrate the fact that we stopped enslaving people, amazes and annoys me to no end

I hear you, and believe me I understand the urge. I just can't support the answer to dehumanization being dehumanizing of the dehumanizer. There's a line between justice and revenge. If the world's going to get any better, we have to start caring more about loving than about "being right".

Same. The sad part is even in the book of Genesis the role of mankind is that of being a steward of the planet, not it's subjugator. Though I no longer ascribe to a literal reading of Genesis. The lesson learned is that Adam & Eve were given all they needed and yet did not have "enough".

I have felt for a while that there are two basic ideologies at play:

1) we, as the "dominant" species are here to rule over the planet.
2) we, as one of the many species on this planet, are here to live in harmony with the planet.

Which ideology you subscribe to, determines your lifestyle.
