looking at indoor home co2 levels over the two weeks I was away is fascinating. why is it doing that? neighbor activity? winds bringing fresh air from outside the city, or clearing out local stagnant air? temperature changing airflow?

... ok, bahtinov mask diffraction spikes with an Hα filter (i.e. the light is a single wavelength) are really cool
I wonder if there's a physical reason some of the dots are dimmer, or if it's just random imperfections

I wasn't planning on doing so tonight, but looked outside and it was cloudless. Those nights are rare these days, so I rushed outside, mainly to test my control software - it's in desperate need of testing. So, of course, once I'm set up, the sky looks like this :)

anyway, so there I'm sitting, fiddling with stuff, when suddenly a fuzzy blob rotates into view.
ok, sure, andromeda, you can photobomb. valid. thanks. (core of andromeda is on the left, M32 the blip on the right. andromeda itself is larger than the entire picture, too faint for this low exposure)

finally was a cloudless night tonight, so I pointed my telescope out my window as a lazy test for the bahtinov mask @freya.bsky.social 3d printed me - it works great!
(my motorized mount was turned off - so the star moving is due to the rotation of the earth)

I did a comparison of latency in ffxiv, windows vs. linux! (bumped mouse and timed how long it took to turn the camera)
- ffxiv is surprisingly low latency, basically no difference between a text editor and it
- no statistically significant difference between windows and linux
