It's crazy how much your perception on age differences changes over time. When I was watching Sweeney Todd in high school my perception of Jamie Campbell Bower was that he was WAY older than me, so looking him up now I expected him to be in his 40s, but he's 37?? He's 5 years older than me??

One of the cool things about being a scientist is that the answer "I don't know" to a question is actually super exciting and not embarrassing at all. It means you get to try and FIND OUT, either through literature search, asking a colleague, or deciding you want to determine the answer empirically

The actual secret to why I know stuff is that I ask a question any time I don’t understand literally anything. I don’t care how simple it is. Anybody who makes fun of you for asking a simple question likely doesn’t know the answer either

Got the restaurant info for work Christmas party and it's like 9/10 my worst nightmare. I very explicitly wanted to know the restaurant in advance so I can plan but it's a fancy fucking tapas place where the menu changes often so they just have an "example menu" on the website.

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.
