We’re all crammed here, with nothing left, no money, not even privacy and intimacy. Just our unflinching love in this family.

Please help us. Your support is a lifeline. We lost everything.

Keep on doing all you can to end the blockade and genocide.
May God save us all. 🇵🇸

Now we live in tents. The tents are being flooded by the rain. We’re sheltering in a school in Khan Yunis that’s overcrowded: women and children sleep in classrooms, but men sleep in tents in the school yard, at the mercy of the elements, the wind, the rain, the cold.

Now there’s no traces of our neighbourhood left. We can’t see where our house was anymore. We can’t see where the streets were anymore. It’s just a flat wasteland. Everything razed to the ground.

Then, in May 2025, a year after we had to flee our home, the Israeli occupying forces decided that having bombed most of Rafah wasn’t enough: they would raze the city completely.
November 17, 2025 at 11:32 AM
And in the meantime, we weren’t even able to live together anymore. Our family was scattered all over the Gaza Strip, living in various tents and shelters. We used to eat all our meals together. Now we would sometimes spend weeks without seeing one another.

This is what our house looked like after it was bombed. So much shattered in one instant. We went back seeing it, contemplating the massive effort that would be needed for reconstruction.
November 17, 2025 at 11:30 AM
Then on the 6th of May 2024, the occupation decided they would start bombing Rafah. We left our home in a hurry, without taking much with us, because we were sure we would be back home after a few days. But our house was bombed, and we’ve not been back then.

At the end of 2023, the massacre started, and half the population of the Gaza Strip found refuge in Rafah. Rafah wasn’t able to accommodate so many people, it was a huge humanitarian crisis.

I wish I took more photos of the house while we were there. You always take these things for granted, until they’re gone.

My brother Ahmed has four children: Shaimaa, who is 8 years old; Mohammed, who is 7 years old; Ali, 5; and Bilal, 2.

My brother Bilal has three children: Mohammed, 6; Hour, 2; and Fares, who is 17 days old.
November 17, 2025 at 11:28 AM
And the house was also always filled with child laughter: my brothers Ahmed and Bilal and their spouses blessed us with happy, healthy children.
November 17, 2025 at 11:24 AM
It was a house full of love, children’s toys, delicious smells from cooking, secret corners, comfortable seats, and happy memories.
November 17, 2025 at 11:23 AM
The Zeyada Family is a big, close and loving family. All of my brothers and their spouses joined forces and they were able to buy a very big house where we could all live together. It was a big house in #Rafah, the city furthest south in the #Gaza Strip, just next to the Egyptian border.

I was missing from the photo because I went eating a delicious shawarma with my cousin when they took it hahaha

There’s 5 of us, from right to left:

My brother Ahmed, my father Mohammed, my brother Bilal, my younger brother Omar, and my brother Osama.

The boys are my nephews: there’s Mohammed the son of Ahmed, Mohammed the son of Bilal, and Bilal the son of Ahmed.

I realise that by asking for help every day, I turn away many people. But I have no choice. The situation is really desperate.

Would you live in a tent, like this?

Now I live in a school that’s a shelter. Women and children sleep in the classrooms that work as dormitories, but men sleep in tents in the school yard. My tent was already severely damaged yesterday because of the wind and the rain.

I want to help my brother Ahmed and his family. It’s truly heartbreaking.

Look. Look what happened to the tent. They have nowhere to go now. Four children.

We can accommodate them in the school for a few days. His wife and children can sleep in the for a few days. But men must sleep in the rain.

This is my cousin’s tent. It was destroyed last night. And we’re trying to fix everything we can.

I wish we could find a house to rent so my brothers and I could all get together away from this rain.

But houses are expensive to rent; a month costs over $1300.

Oh my God, it's really very difficult in every way.

If you can help us:
