And he pins it on poor civics education... as a former high school government teacher, let me just say, he can f*** all the way off. (Protected speech, by the way. First Amendment, if you were wondering. Assuming we still have a First Amendment. )

About as succinct an indictment of Elon's Stooge as I've ever read. It's not going well ... and it's going to get worse.

Can someone please, using very simple language (maybe pictures?) introduce the current occupant of the White House to David Ricardo?

This was gut-wrenchingly powerful. Wow.
In the strongest possible terms I encourage you to read this essay in @motherjones.com by my colleague Robert Rosenthal. Powerful, deeply moving, and illuminating. www.motherjones.com/criminal-jus...

So would it be ironic if this measure becomes law but a government shutdown prevents it from actually going into effect because all the folks who work for the Social Security Administration and have to implement it aren't getting paid?

This letter my students received 30 years ago from Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox is making the rounds here in the happier place.

It still resonates, now more than ever.
Makes me sad re-reading this amazing letter from ex-Watergate Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox sent to high school seniors in 1994 after they asked him “What should Americans learn from Watergate?” 20 years later in ‘94.

His answer is remarkable—unfortunately things didn’t work out so well in 2024.

Haven't commented on social media about the election ... dumbfounded, of course, that 76 million Americans voted for an adjudicated rapist/felon, but also feeling like my burden will be so much less than others.

I have done some unfriending/blocking, and here for a fresh start.

Feels ... better.

Un-installed X on my phone but didn't delete the account because I read somewhere that baddies can take it over.

Don't want ID theft (or worse) to happen, but do they care about a non-famous normie like me?

Thoughts?
