I don’t know how you stop the derision for the Midwest and the South when people willfully participate in stereotyping the people from there when it benefits them. And don’t get me wrong—I have no allegiance with Indiana Republicans or Trump entertainers. But Indiana is just a place.

I promise that the Trump rallies in Orange, California are just as vitriolic, Roxane.
It’s embarrassing that publications keep writing about how we should go to a Trump rally. I’ve lived in small town Indiana. I am clear on what happens at those rallies. The idea that we need to expose ourselves to bigotry and toxicity for some ambiguous idea about understanding is stupid. At best.
