#coffeelover #tapestryweaver and amateur historian. #epilepsy #autism #diabetes #osteoarthritis #familytree Will research all kinds of topics for projects
Off to #Newport-On-Tay #Dundee in a wks time to do more research into #MarsTrainingShip that was moored in the #RiverTay - 1869-1929. Looking at photos of the boys that I will be weaving into tapestries. B/W photos can tell so much, but still ask so many questions! Research for this is great!

Another showing the boys in front of the boys from the Training Ship Mars. The project is partly to make clear that despite rumours, it was not for criminals, so many boys who went there were orphans and who had actually committed no crimes. Creativity, education and history throughout!

2 weeks of collecting notes, sketches, yarns, staring at the RiverTay and collecting sea glass, in and out of libraries, picking historians brains ....now back home to the west coast! Back to the studio. Photo of the next project (with permission of Dundee Libraries) The Training Ship Mars.

This screen image came up and I didn't manage to catch where it was from other than somewhere in India. Anyone know? My mind immediately thought of the Dutch artist Escher. Next time i will make a note. But I've never seen steps this crazy before.

The poppies are opening, with another twenty or so still to open. Hope the wind doesn't smash them to pieces 🙄 They are like the tulips and cherry blossom. Just here for such a short time, but so beautiful!

New radiators, so flooring had to come up. Didn't know how much glue had been used as they boards had been down for so long. Noisy, dusty, costly, but I do love the smell and colour of wood.

@alexchurchill.bsky.social Look what arrived this morning! Plenty of reading to be done! 🤓 Had a wee look at the photos and they look fascinating!

Calm ....don't lose your marbles ....if you do find some semi-precious beads from broken necklace instead. #Agate #Solitaire The board came from a charity shop. Most calming find.

#HolyGhostHappy the quotes are getting more cringe worthy.

This has been my read so far. Mind-boggling, but excellent.

Looking back at a few old weavings from the past. Uni course will have to give me some inspiration this year to get going and my loom 'Saga' is waiting for the cotton warp.... Time also to explore some other colours of the colour spectrum perhaps 🤔

Not specialist ear defenders for #autism but will work just nicely on the bus and train listening to music and podcasts instead of ear thingy's 🤣that are so uncomfortable!

Creative opportunity lies ahead for this. It's just a case of deciding how to convert a derelict 1930s/40s shed/garage that was designed for smaller cars into something exciting for a 2025 project. Numerous possibilities..... no money available🤣
Has 'character' as property people would say 🤣

Past caring what they actually look like. Just the relief of not having to put my glasses on top of my head or leave them somewhere else. At times have been nodding like a pigeon!. Whoever came up with #Varifocals Thank you! This is making studying a hell of a lot easier!

How to look like you are singing to the North Sea, Denmark to Scotland 🤣. Hold an ipad up! FB notification from 5yrs ago when I visited the Danish Sea War Museum. Many happy memories visiting and meeting such amazing historians and tapestry weavers.

Loving #Wolfhall The attention to the detail is great. I love unusual chess sets despite not knowing how to play the game. This one in the programme is beautiful. Simply carved from what looks like wood?

Assignment writing time 😬 Whoever created #Thesauruses must have had fantastic brains. I didn't use this enough last year and fully intend on making good use of it this year!

One of my first 'posts' on the other platform! Yes. a post! Taken from when I was at art college in the days before the digital age. This one wasn't too faded. In the fields in Fife overlooking the Tay, i managed to process my own film. All without handing a back canister over to someone else 😜

For the first i didn't manage to get to the Remembrance services, but I did take photos this morning outside #CastleDouglasLibrary #DumfriesAndGalloway #Remembrance Something beautiful to look at and reflect. The sun was coming out too.
