I'm slowly migrating here from twitter. Will update once we all decide we got enough or it goes under.
Is that... Is that public housing or did I miss something? If so. Wow. I'm impressed. I fully expected them to only do market non-solutions. The liberals are actually doing something. My. That is unexpected.

I'm back after a while. And I'm embarrassed to admit it's because Twitter is down lmao.

So apparently Elon Musk's young child, unprompted, told Trump, while his father was talking next to them; "you're not the president and you need to go"

The fact the child believes that is terrifying. Not his fault, but worrying.

Some humans are amazing. Others are so bad they would make anyone question the point of life and civilization. And many are mediocre, intolerant, cruel, etc.

The real question is how many of each are there, and how much of the great we need at minimum to keep the lights on.
I actually hate the "lol the giant asteroid will deliver us from this suffering" jokes.

Are there any other people in the progressive movement who think that humans are actually fucking amazing?

The amount of disinformation on Canadian twitter is frankly astounding. It's clearly targeted campaigns to make the conservatives win and convince Canadians the idea of becoming "the 51st state of the U.S.A" is popular... It's not.

The amount of people that comment under climate change talking posts on Twitter/X with outright denial or "haha this moron believe you can pay taxes to change the weather" is a reminder climate change deniers are not just ignorant but very very stupid. Or very bad faith. Likely both.

Oh yeah I noticed that too. The Guild Wars 2 Subreddit is doing that as well. They did ask the community first.
it humbles me to say this but since lots of subreddit mods have taken a stronger stance against fascism by banning links from X than the Democratic Party as a whole, i have no choice but to drop "reddit behavior (pejorative)" from my vocabulary

Was on Twitter and I responded to a mutual on a gun related thread how I find it so odd that Americans want to own guns with live ammo, that you'd think marksmanship could be done without lethal ammo. And I got dogpilled by angry Americans. Lmao.

Funny how Americans voted for Trump to get lower prices and taxes yet his Number 1 economic policy is an import tax that will directly increase prices WHILE being a huge tax lmao

I just saw this on Twitter. Sigh. I don't know if I'm more angry or sad that people think like this. Vaccines are a safe and downright miraculous technology, yet people treat it with such suspicion that their fear does make vaccines less effective, as they work from herd immunity.

I heard that apparently many Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving. Idk if it's a french Québec thing or just my family, but I've never celebrated thanksgiving.

Idk why conservatives are so upset at the idea that people choose to go to bluesky for more progressive discussions and posts. It's only natural to like engaging with similarly minded folks. Isn't that why they flocked to twitter after Elon bought it?

Ok I'm tired of Twitter being so awful. I'll try being more active here. The amount of rabid Canadian conservatives has brought me down. They are so stupid and exhausting to talk to. Hoping Canadian political discourse is saner on here.
