I'm actually surprised at the large number of kids that cycle to/from the high schools from here. They overwhelm the (substandard) Cyril Road crossing, so it's a good job that's getting upgraded as part of the associated bridge works.

Urgh, thinking that's been around for a century and abjectly failed.

Only safe way from here to Aldi is via the Wilford Toll Bridge and City Centre - for a place ≈1km away! Walking across Lady Bay Bridge is horrific, this will be a massive improvement.

Our local group (i.e. amongst those nearest it) seems to be either neutral or positive towards it 😎

Plenty of local interest with people out watching it being installed today.

Some people just don't like change. Bet there's even a comment on the Post about it being yet more student accommodation!

And the bridge is now in position.

Looks like the little crane has got its arms up in a celebratory position!

The only question is is it his first or 2nd season, and who gave up and walked away first - Charles or Lewis?

The biggest thing I miss from the coverage back then was the choice of commentators!

Didn't get to watch Hunt/Walker, but often had the choice of Watson/Kalff (Eurosport, all sessions) or Walker/Palmer (most races).
If you wanted accuracy it was the former, wanted entertainment and pure enjoyment it was the latter

They've finally mastered showing three things at once, so perhaps they'll manage that one day.

Although, watching the highlights of Brazil 2008 the other day, I'm so glad we have what we already have, can't believe that in the 90s you got the current leaderboard every lap or so at best.

Saw lots of people out yesterday taking a look at it. Our view is about to change forever. 😎

Wonder if the youngsters being taken for a walk by their parents/guardians this weekend will even remember what it was like without a bridge?
