Does result in some bargains though - our current car is ex-motability, but we got it in great condition, with a couple of years left on the warranty, and still seemed to be discounted because of its previous ownership.

I read the killing of the colleagues a bit differently - that after his second conversation with the middle man, it was primarily a means of faking his death (and that of his spotter).
The trigger happy incident seemed written to make that act less monstrous, rather than to be its primary driver.

Was always the much less subtle “ULLA!” that did this for me.

And usually there’s nothing wrong with that arrangement, but it relies on both sides being willing to acknowledge the existence of common ground.

The other issue is which chamber has primacy if both chambers are elected. Current constitutional convention (i.e. the Lords’ ultimate deference to the Commons) is driven by the Commons’ popular mandate. Would the members of an elected senate necessarily feel obliged to behave in the same way?
