About halfway through Killer7 on Steam, which came out almost exactly half my lifetime ago. It is exactly the same experience today [positive]. Confidently unhinged. Every tiny detail perfectly wrong and upsetting.

Check out this preview scene from RocketJump's upcoming action-comedy feature, Nail House! Sound designed and mixed by me. There's also a feature-length documentary afterwards; I didn't do the sound on that but I assume the content is great 🤪 www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXnP...

Of all the causes I could have possibly guessed, the LA fires turning out to be deliberate arson by a man from Florida with AI psychosis was not high on that list
the city of los angeles burned in january in part because of a man who couldn’t stop generating images of burning cities on ChatGPT, and then after he lit the fire he asked if the fire he started was his fault

I sound designed "Hollywood Hustler," out October 17th on Amazon Prime, and it is just as sleazy and sensational as the trailer makes it out to be! And perhaps, a hard look at what's too often the reality behind fulfilling the "American Dream." www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyBo...

My parents for some reason got a can of Irn-Bru for the kids to try (they don’t really drink soda?), so I snuck a couple sips for Science. Good when cold, and then immediately vile when it’s no longer icy, which was fun to discover. Better than expected; still prefer Scotland’s other national drink

I’m really enjoying Alien: Earth, but the Western sci-fi retro future (i.e. “dated”) Yutani office was a Bit Much. I love throwback chonky analog computers, reminders of childhood orientalism, less so

Sister-in-law is visiting and wanted to do some retro games, so we played the first Mario Party on N64. By the end of the game, my eight year old was absolutely livid and unresponsive, proving the game is timeless in its devastation

Because of Bananza, the kids have questions about the old Donkey Kongs, and they’re about to find out I always was a full completion maniac

The beautiful IMMORTALITY: Design Works! It’s absolutely massive and features the full screenplay (all 400+ pages), as well as a wealth of interviews, that I’m very excited to read. I’m also interviewed in the book, and I am now immortalized (a-haaaah; sigh) in print calling the game “weird.”

"DEVO" the documentary is out on Netflix tomorrow, August 19th! It covers the band's history and messaging with a surreal, whimsical vibe that feels like a direct extension of their work. I had the pleasure of sound designing the film!

A friend sent me this, asking if this person, or @krotos.bsky.social had anything to do with Jurassic World Rebirth, the answer is NO, I have no idea why Krotos is seemingly running what may be a pretty misleading ad that sort of implies it. But to be clear, I do not use Krotos software EVER.

I was a sound designer on “Rental Family,” directed by Hikari and starring Brendan Fraser, premiering at Toronto International Film Festival!

My kid chatted with Brendan for an hour about Star Wars during production downtime; he is a very nice guy so I’m rooting for this film 😛

Having the paleontologist in the new Jurassic refer to a mosasaur, pterosaur, and sauropod as “three dinosaurs” is horseshit

This is the only hyper-focused opinion I will be posting about this movie

Has anyone discussed how the next 28 Years Later movie is coming out 28 weeks later (in the UK at least)

sigh / applause

28 Years Later was weird as hell and I didn’t like it [positive intonation]

A rare treat these days to get a genre sequel that’s just whole-ass bizarre; bravo

(I really hope the sequel doesn’t clarify any of it, because that would sour it for me)
