I've long said that all the shitty MAGA behavior, the wilding out in public is an extinction burst. Their ugliness and hate aren't working to win people over, so they ratchet up. This is esp true of Trump, who has 0 coping skills. They know they're doomed.

Extinction Burst Explains MAGA Voters’ Racist Anger
This fantastic two-minute video, from a guy named Rich, neatly explains why the anger and frustration of Trump’s supporter

Great! But how do these rallies result in actual change? Unless this is designed to scare Schumer and his ilk?

Notice that the white man with the rifle is raising his weapon while staring at the fleeing native/indigenous people…as though he is providing offensive cover for the white invaders.

Yeah do the best you can. My Vanishing point clogged again this morning so I celebrated too soon. I think at this point I have to send it to Nibs.com for a proper cleaning/servicing. S'what I get for not treating precious things as they deserve!

Richard Binder (the guy who modded my pen) closed up shop years ago. John Mottishaw at Nibs.com makes a high-flex Spencerian mod of the Pilot Custom 912 that I've wanted for years youtu.be/pRebkWHsHC0?... ... But haven't yet sprung the bucks for....

No XF is ok (my favorite actually). I still think what clogged my Vanishing Point was misuse (I let ink try in the darned thing) rather than a manufacturing issue...but I can't say for certain. And mine isn't factory issue...I had it customized to an even finer point.

I absolutely love the Vanishing Point. Years ago I got a custom grind from Richard Binder to get a super fine point to compensate for the fact that I usually write on the porous printer paper we always get at work. Worked before years before this clog. Never occurred to me it might be the nib

Goulet Pens does sell a cleaning solution but I’ve never used it. They are an excellent store so it might be a last resort if hot water and patience don’t work.

My pleasure. Once you get the feel of fountain pens, there’s no going back!

But the right answer, of course, is to never let your pens get clogged. Don't fill them with ink and set them down for long periods of time to dry with ink in them. lf I know I'm not going to use the pen for a while I empty the ink back into the bottle and flush with water.

I had to risk hotter water than I'd ever used before, filling the cartridge/converter, letting it soak, emptying it, then repeating. Then I would write when filled with the hot water to work out any dried bits. It takes a while for the color from dried ink to dissolve.

First rule: Never use the words "solvent" and "fountain pen" in the same sentence ever again! So no solvents, ever! All I've ever needed has been warm/hot water and patience. Let the nib soak, and flush in and out using the converter, then repeat. Vanishing Point was stubborn.

Yes! Noodlers is functional, but Iroshizuku is Beautiful!
March 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM
Yes that can be a problem - depends on the pen. I find though that there are huge cognitive benefits to using fountain pens…and the modern affordable ones from Pilot and Lamy are very easy to maintain.

Yes Pilot’s Iroshizuku inks are absolutely beautiful. They are designed and named after colors in nature.
