But it feels like we’re doubling down on a shelter plan with gaping holes that is meant to project a good image rather than actually solve homelessness.

You can’t expect to solve homelessness when you don’t follow evidence-based solutions (i.e. Housing First).

And the Democratic supermajority in the legislature allocated 45% of the recommended homeless services funding. We’re careening towards disaster.

And a 90-day stay limit on shelters when there’s decreasing housing support on the other end? What are we doing?

What is supposed to happen if someone doesn’t secure a job, housing on their own, and every other facet of life in 90? To the streets, get swept, cited, jailed, die?
