I speak German and it helped immensely when learned Afrikaans, which is very similar to Dutch. So I'd say it will indeed be useful.

Absolutely, Madam. It's a third conditional: IF + SUBJ + HAD + 3RD FORM..., SUBJ + WOULD (NOT) HAVE + 3RD FORM... And I'll dedicate this week to linking (cohesive) expressions just for you. So watch this space...😀

Would you be interested in learning some dead languages? I've had a crack at Old English and Old Norse. If you speak Dutch and German, you'll be in pole position to learn those.
