I’m not the person to write it but you could probably write a few thousand words on the tech bro obsession with making robots that reflect modern male beauty standards (broad shoulders tapering to a narrow waist, slim but structured limbs), and how they’re trying to engineer into form.

My one complaint about the movie was that it made that point even less subtly than the already not subtle book, but I have to acknowledge reactions to the novel and movie suggest GDT had good reason to think bonking people over the head would be necessary.
