In a straight up/down vote. I doubt it. Expanding the court is still likely out of reach unfortunately no matter what we do in the primary. Although, I do agree it needs to happen.

I think its far more likely that if the Republicans would have gotten rid of the filibuster now, Democrats would have been more willing and able to do what is needed in 28. It's one thing for something to only get a cloture vote, but are the pro-filibuster Dems voting against PR statehood?

They aren't going to do it. We both know it. This was our best chance. We'll win in 28, and then not be able to make the changes that need to be done to fix our broken democracy, and we'll only just delay the authoritarian slide.

If they were going to pass an enabling act, the filibuster wouldn't stop them. The filibuster won't stop anything they REALLY want to do. That's why we should have forced them to get rid of it.

I'm going to give you some shocking information. We lost because of inflation and Joe Biden was incredibly unpopular. Historically so. And then turned out the worst debate performance in the history of debates and Kamala pulled off a miracle getting it that close.
