The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.
And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

I don’t care if Schumer voted no. If he’s unable to wrangle the caucus, he’s not an effective leader. I’ll continue to push for the caucus to elect a new one.

This is not what they actually say. This is what they used to say, in the long ago before times when Shaheen learned to do politics. There is no kumbaya median voter anymore. The question you get knocking doors is not "why can't you all just work together?" it's "why didn't / will you fight harder?

Sitting here getting ready to sign out for the day and I can't help but think of conversations with friends. They don't want to talk about politics despite it affecting them personally. I love my friends to death but I swear I wish I could get them to pull their heads out of the sand. Frustrating.

I don't know about y'all but I've been carrying a whole lot of anger and sadness lately. Especially the anger. That's been real heavy as of late. Everything in the news is either depressing or rage-inducing. Dear God, it's only October of the first year of the administration. Do what you can, y'all.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
