Looking at how it went with China it was pretty much anticipated that us in EU would get an increase in tariff.

The European Union is second after China on Trumps hate list. Well, maybe third now that the Canadians are openly hostile to him.

Won't happen. The R in BRICS is pretty much a dealbreaker at this stage in our/Europeans relationship with Russia.

The most likely scenario from all of this is that EU + UK will likely go more independent and rely much less on the US in all aspects from trade to politics.

Thank god, this was long overdue. I'm even suspecting that the reason for the delay was partially because our European leaders were unwilling to fully commit to their promises, so they used Hungary (Orban) as an excuse.

Why would Putin want peace when things are slowly beginning to tilt in Russias favor?

There's a growing push for peace, but sadly also more and more people who wants peace even if it's unfavorable to Ukraine.

Putin thinks the longer he's stalling, the more favorable.
