Turkey update! I knew going in to getting poults that turkeys are pretty dumb. I did not know how determined to kill themselves they were. I also didn't know how charming and curious turkeys are. These are all destined for Thanksgiving/Christmas dinners, but i think want to get heritage breeds

Caught a criminal in the chicken coop yesterday. He was eating eggs. Safely relocated to a forest far enough away he shouldn't come back, I don't mind losing a few eggs but the young chickens will be in the coop soon and skunks can be dangerous to little guys.

First four babies out of the incubator now that they're all dry. There's still quite a few pipped eggs, but these four were busy playing soccer with their siblings

Another pip and one that's working on zipping this morning! Peeps are coming more frequently now. I can see at least two other pips in ones further from the edges

Researching a bunch on chicken egg genetics and I've learned so much about how eggs are colored. I had to wash this brown egg because it was laid in mud (thanks girls) but it's a cool chance to see how brown on chicken eggs is actually a stain over top of white eggs. Some of the brown washed off
