Thanks Olga.
Interestingly, we mostly unlearn and rethink. Our students often have a first degree in architecture and are well versed in considering style, aesthetics, function and increasingly also culture & climate. But when it comes to human experience, social relations and use, there's a gap

In our session today, we discussed office buildings together with my long-term collaborator, friend and ex-colleague Rosie Haslem
Another brilliant and engaging session on architectural research in practice, differences between academic and practice-led research as well as various research tools

We learnt that school buildings differ not only by climate (warm countries have more exterior spaces) but also by culture (gender separation in Saudi Arabia), size (from 100s to 1000s of students), schedules (all day needs canteens) and by pedagogy (high discipline context in Kazakhstan for example)

Last week, we discussed school buildings. Students made a sketch (from memory) of the secondary school they attended.
So many great examples from all over the world - from a small school in Chile boasting a slide from classrooms to playground all the way to a large Silicon Valley campus

Beautiful photo! 💙
I've seen a kingfisher in North London on the New River canal last year - it was truly magical. Sadly I've only got a mobile phone shot

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke is gorgeous and has three further books in the series (that do get a bit darker one by one). We've read all four with an 11yo
