Community Development by day / community busy body by night. Though here I will talk a lot about my 5yo & baby. Views entirely personal and occasionally a bit hot-headed - don’t quote me. Late diagnosed autistic. (She/they)
Baby’s nap time = sewing! I *should* do tidying or something, but I’m starting to go a bit crazy, and need a creative outlet! I’m making Christmas cracker crowns. My aunt Mary’s sewing box stash has some close thread colour matches. Or at least, on the surface they are a close match…

I dunno, convert some of the endless paved space reserved for cars into green space that can absorb water, maybe?

Sorry, forget it. That could result in a car owner being inconvenienced, which would of course be far worse than the flooding of our cities and towns.
Is there anything we can do to alleviate flash floods in the West Midlands
Experts say housebuilding and concrete drives are making floods worse, but that there are things we can do.

The kids are asleep so I am uncoiling. Making the smaller bab some trousers from material I got at my fabric swap! I don’t have a matching thread but have plenty close enough thanks to my aunt Mary’s vintage stash.

Fed up with the high dopamine kids animations on Netflix, thought we’d put a calming nice film on instead...

Snow White is terrifying! The Queen is all ‘kill her [Snow White] and cut out her heart and put it a box, so I know the job of killing her is done’. 😯

The hairdressers has closed down! No car on the pavement wooo!
Just *how* is this parking legal and how can one person have so much entitlement.

We lived in a pub when I was growing up and when I was 3 (50 years ago!) we had someone in to draw the pub for a business card. I sat next to him and watched him draw every line. I was transfixed and it was a huge inspiration for me. I’ve dreamt about owning that drawing for years…

Really nice to catch up with friends at the fabric swap I organised at my coworking space. Quite an elaborate way to fuel my latest hobby, orchestrating a community event so I can boost my fabric stash - but look what I picked up!!

Worst night sleep last night with the babe. Not bad going really, seeings as she’s four months old now and a regression usually happens around this time. Very cute, she just wanted to learn to sit up and giggle 3am-5am! 🥱

I’d forgotten how funny it is to be shouted at by a four month old baby who’s just found their voice 🙉

Sadly missed it but absolute credit to @lb-southwark.bsky.social running a 'Guided Cycle Consultation' where Officers actually got out & cycled with residents to consult changes. People saying it was the best consultation they've ever seen. FANTASTIC progress that every Council should copy.

🅿️ Pavement parking is dangerous. It pushes vulnerable people and children into the road. That's why we're campaigning for city-wide measures to get parking back under control.

My 5yo insisted I recorded him building a birthday Lego set this morning. So I have a 45 minute video of him narrating building it, with cat cameos, a croissant break, and baby babbles. I’m sure none of us will watch it again but he’s very proud! 🚁 (thanks @mattandrews.info & Maddy)
