A Family's Financial Ties Dr. Oz was born in Cleveland to a wealthy Turkish American family. His father, Mustafa, was a thoracic surgeon who died in 2019. He has familial links to one of Turkey's largest pharmaceutical companies, Atabay, that was founded by his maternal grandfather. It makes ingredients for medications, including opioids, that are currently sold in the United States. It does not appear that he had an ownership stake in the company, although he has had contact with top health officials in Turkey along with his uncle, who was once Atabay's chairman. I share your fear. I was ruminating on the same thing this morning. I am checking Election Alberta’s website daily to see if/when recall petitions are approved. The timeline for Nicolaides’ recall moved fairly quickly. I also fear people will tire of too many petitions. Requires a lot of volunteers.

I’m curious how her approval rating has dropped with just her far-right base? It will be interesting to see how she comes out the backside of the UCP AGM. Lots of “chatter” TBA will completely take over the board. Maybe she’ll be even more 🦇 💩 🤪 to hold onto power and lose more of the undecideds.

I’m watching the Legislative Assembly live. I made a note that Smith was not present in the Chamber since vote on Motion 2. Where could the Premier be that is more important? Voted on Motion 5 and she is still MIA. Finally some debate on motion 6. What the heck is going on?

I heard teachers were not permitted to provide any materials, homework, reading. And the reality is all students will have to start from the same place when they return to school. There is no keeping up or getting ahead during the strike especially with this nonsense toolkit. Can a teacher confirm?
Remember, this toolkit is not a replacement for instruction provided by your local school board. Be sure to use any course materials your school board has provided-like syllabus, textbooks, assignments, or access codes for locally sourced websites and software.

Evan said something really important about the impact of the state of AB education system on teacher and student mental health. And the UCP have just laid it on thick with one demand and attack after another. No support, no appreciation. No wonder teachers are leaving the profession as Nenshi said.

The first thing a parent needs to do to access the toolkit is tell the UCP which school their children attend and grades. Why? I predict the UCP will use this data collected to support their agenda. I hope parents do not fall for this. Parents, please stand with teachers!

Wouldn't it be wonderful for Albertans to stop being exploited, transferring hundreds of billions to Quebec and other hypocrites who attack and hold Alberta back? And wouldn't it be wonderful to stop having to fund an entrenched SWAMP in Ottawa who glut themselves on our labors and are often jealous and hostile to Alberta's freedom and prosperity? Yes, Canada is suffering under economic warfare, but what about Alberta, who suffered economic warfare under Trudeau for many years. Where was Team Canada back then? And now in this trade war, some on this "team" are calling for export taxes on Alberta oil using us as their sacrificial lamb costing them nothing! This is a fake team. Canada is broken. And this has been the case for a long time. And the acknowledgement of this truth stands independent of. and does not condone, destructive trade wars. Politicians, including Trudeau, broke Canada and made us more vulnerable to trade wars. And these politicians cannot be trusted to fix what they broke. Albertans voted in a referendum to get rid of equalization. And what did the rest of Canada do? Nothing. This will never change. Other than taking many billions from us every year, attacking, and holding us back, what does Canada offer Alberta? Albertans share a desire for freedom and prosperity for themselves and their children. That is good The status quo is unacceptable and that is the truth.

💯 agree that distinction is important.

Tomorrow (September 17, 2025) is the “Deadline for Filing Intervention Applications”. So hopefully there’s a long way to go before a decision and it’s well after the Forever Canadian campaign is wrapped up. Looking for a light at the end of this dark tunnel.
