I'm a wheelchair user, I love it when children are curious. My rule of thumb is don't touch my chair or try & push me. Besides that, I'm fine with someone asking if they can help me reach something.
I know the UK & the states use different language
Eg handicapped is a big no here.

In the UK we call them charity shops but similar things - although I do envy some of the thrift finds I see in the US.
Yard sales & I haunt Facebook marketplace, I've got some amazing things for free or super cheap

I'm in the UK so Scotland is easy to get to.
Lol yes I've heard baked beans are not favoured by Americans for breakfast.
There is a lot of good British food but it can be heavy.
Sounds like you had a good trip. Did you find attitudes towards disabled people different to home?

I love the freshness of the food, I was hoping we would get to a market but we missed market day. We will definitely go back, just need a new wheelchair first :)
Think our next big trip will be in the UK - we plan to go to Scotland next year.

French good is delicious - the Black Forrest is very close to the French Boarder so has many French influences. I was told about Gasthauses, highly recommend family run restaurants in inn's
We ate in one on our last night. Huge portions & delicious freshly cooked.

The food was great, yummy is an English term for really nice,
WC parking was very good
Usually free - the train station had dedicated free parking, where other cars were 2 hours max.
We didn't go into any big cities so I don't know, but where we did go WC parking was good.

All in all I'd say go, the scenery is amazing, accessible transport was a 9/10 the food was yummy - sampling Black Forrest cake was a must.
It's a little pricier than the UK
Next time I'd fly or go by train
The 12 hour drive home was a killer

Most people's like were lovely, although don't get in the way of a German determined to get on the bus, I was nearly taken out a few times despite my stick
Google translate was my friend, it helps translate menus & I gave German a good go 😂 mostly it was terrible

Shops, attractions etc were mostly accessible, finding information was a bit hit & miss they need a visit the Black Forrest website with links to the #konuscard & places to visit.
Or an app for the card, would have been amazing.

I can walk but not far, so had to push my limits way beyond anything I've done in years.
I think the National Parks in the BF are missing a trick - while w/chair hire is not everywhere, the @nationaltrust.org.uk &National parks have scooters
