To treat it not to treat - that is the question? Went out for a fast 30 minute walk at 11.3 and now …. don’t feel low so is it an exercise fake and it will recover on its own? #DiabetesMystery

Yesterday’s trip was to the North of Tenerife and a great view of Tiede and then wine and tapas tasting (wonderful cheese and ham for me).

First world problem I know - new sensor was bleeder and now a low reader. Last one was the same but recovered after 36 hours - hopefully this one will be the same as it was good for the other 12 1/2 days. #GBDoc

When you put the oven on to make aubergine bake seems a waste not to make muffins - these are maple, pecan and sultana yoghurt muffins

Been feeling a bit rough all day - thought I should check for ketones. Meter gives an error reading - turns out leaving the meter in a cool place is a mistake; one cuddle later and meter working again (and negligible ketones).

Work Christmas lunch and decided sticky toffee pudding was beyond my carb counting ability so opted for cheese. A week’s worth of cheese arrived with three small biscuits; I’m now a bit light on carbs and very heavy on cholesterol!

No swimming tonight - jet lag takes its toll but after a very positive diabetes review with my GP (we discussed insulin and CGM options - he’s happy for me to choose when I’m ready) time to relax at the spa.

Last night in Shanghai so a stroll down Nanjing Lu to see the lights. Even found the ultimate hypo treat shop with an unusual Christmas tree at the front.

For a little light evening exercise I strolled round the Pearl Oriental Tower Square. Always fun people watching - selfies are the thing.

Christmas lights switch on at my hotel in China with party sized chocolate log and many sweet canapés to celebrate. Carb counting has been fun!

Well that was the most chaotic boarding process ever at Schiphol Airport. Heading to China and they want to put a stamp on your boarding card but the table for that is on the wrong side of the queue for boarding - no one has a clue what to do or which queue to stand in …..

HbA1c result is back (I’m happy) and as I’m interested in numbers - the result is 20% above my Libre eA1c and 10% above the predicted GMI and this has been very consistent across the last few years #GBDoc
