Oh my god I just noticed Naniwa MVs on YouTube even have official English subtitles!? In that case, I have to watch them all with the subtitles on and enjoy a JP-and-EN-lyrics-comparing-time.

A funny thing here is that the title “ねぇ” is not Kansai dialect but standard Japanese, whereas the lyrics are all Kansai dialect. Obviously they chose the title by how cute it sounds since Kansai dialect version of “ねぇ” is “なぁ”(Naa) and doesn’t sound cute at all lol.
So, I was REALLY surprised when I first saw them sing and dance “ねぇ” in the POP MALL tour video… cuz they were singing Kansai dialect lyrics, but the song, their outfits, and their dance moves were actually all cute. Impressive. That’s why “ねぇ” is still one of my favorite songs in Naniwa.

As a Kansai person, I believe what makes Naniwa Danshi so unique and lovable is their concept of mixing “Kansai idols” with “Kawaii/cuteness”.That idea still feels fresh and actually perfect to me. Okura-kun is such a genius.

In Japanese, Illuga calls Flins “君” (kimi, it means “you”) and it feels special and bothers me…in a shipping way haha. Normally, people don't call someone older than themselves “君” cuz it sounds polite but too close for elders. But he does.

Btw, in my opinion, “oshi”(推し) is now widely used and can be use casually for various things, but feels a little bit weak for expressing “the member is MY FAVORITE and I'm in charge of rooting for them”. I think “tantou”(担当) is still better to show the stronger attitude towards idol members.

I'm still in the concert afterglow and enjoy recalling the fun moments from yesterday. Also, I'm so happy that watching Ohashi-kun live at the concert truly made me realize he's definitely my oshi.

Speaking of “Because I just love you”, Ohashi-kun messed up the beginning of the song(it starts with his very important solo part, which is my favorite) cuz he remembered something funny Ryuche did right before, and they had to restart it. That was SO...OHASHI that I was kinda glad to witness it.

The whole concert was really good. The setlist being more focused on their five-year path rather than their latest album was a little sad for me cuz l love the album songs soo much… but still OK. From the concert title “VoyAGE”, it was actually predictable. Anyway I enjoyed it a lot.

I’m a little struggling with Asahi’s MYCS thing(マジ、ヤッベー、チョー、スッゲー). Since they’re his signature words, I think translating them into English words loses his uniqueness. Maybe I can use “maji-”, “yabbe-!”, “choo-”, “sugge-!” like Tsukasa’s “Onee-sama” instead of translating them.
