It’s showing wear. It was done in 1984-5, this pic from 1987 (I can’t find one right now of beams with roses but this is another wall in same room). Artist was using 15thc techniques as far as possible but it was a learning experience & wore faster than expected. Mellow now but was pretty intense!

The Kentwell #glassblowers have spent this lovely spring weekend dismantling their old kiln and starting work on a new, even better one to blow even better #glass! Lots of diagrams of airflow sketched in chalk on an old door.

Apparently it’s #wearahat day.
We’re really good at hats.
No, I mean, really really good.
People dressed up as 17th century Puritans in big black hats looking very happy and jolly Napoleonic era soldiers firing a cannon. One has a flat cap, another a shako with a plume 3 Edwardian ladies. One wears a pith helmet 2 have big flowery straw hats.
