There is a lot of pathos and sympathy for The Monster in the story. Shelley initially depicts him as gentle and innocent until he is rejected and abandoned. Mary Shelley's novel is really the first published SF book with similarities to various times, like the present.

The "scary part" of the story is that these little operators had pure alcohol running through their veins and were able to attack someone by injecting them with needle like projections under their fingernails. 🎥👽🎬

That was the bad rap from everyone except Famous Monsters of Filmland where I first saw a promo photo of the Monster carrying Gloria Talbot. It is an intelligent script, and very good effects with all the luster Paramount could offer. Tryon was also a good author with "The Other" coming to mind.

Comprehensive color study, and final cover art. By his own suggestion, Jack's studies were often better than the final paintings.

Apparently a lot has to do with the artist/photographer. Every model I've worked with has said, "This was fun. Can we do that again"?

It's a great PB. Bought mine off the shelf, and comically Jimmy Bama remembered the FM versions of The Monster he painted, but not this.
