NHS Tayside mental health services were criticised for lacking transparency and having poor governance. It set up a project to fix things.

Audit Scotland has just reported that the project to fix the lack of transparency and poor governance suffers from lack of transparency and poor governance.
Longstanding challenges across NHS Tayside's mental health services remain, despite some progress, with a lack of clarity and complex governance impeding the changes needed. Following a highly critical independent inquiry into the services, published in 2020, the health board set up a Whole System Change Programme (WSCP) in 2023 to deliver the changes needed. Governance and leadership arrangements for the WSCP are complicated, unclear and not working well. Progress of the WSCP is not being reported transparently enough to enable good scrutiny and oversight.

In more great news for Scottish men’s rugby, they will be travelling to Argentina, South Africa and Fiji on consecutive weekends in the off-season next year.
The fixtures for the first three weeks of the new nations series tournament next year. Scotland games are as described. (Sorry, the format doesn’t lend itself to transcribing all the fixtures. Shout if I can tell you when a game is!) The second half of said fixtures.

However, the briefing of elements of the plan to rightwing newspapers, and particularly the emphasis on using the model of Denmark, which severely restricts family reunions and in some cases asks asylum seekers to hand over jewellery or other valuables to cover costs, prompted an immediate reaction among some Labour MPs. "It's economically and culturally illiterate," one said. "Are we really going to take the wedding rings of victims of trafficking, tell Ukrainians they can never put down roots?"

You are the ‘darker forces’, Home Secretary.
In Denmark, refugees are given temporary residence permits, typically of two years, and in effect have to re-apply for asylum when they expire. A previous presumption in the Danish system to extend permits was scrapped. Even for those who are allowed to extend multiple times, the route to citizenship has grown longer and harder. The Danish approach is admired by UK government ministers, including Mahmood, who point out that as the Social Democrat party's immigration policies hardened their poll ratings rose - and those of a populist right-wing movement, the People's Party, fell. The home secretary believes that unless Labour takes similar decisions then "darker forces" could thrive in the UK.
