This has been re-released on 4K and a limited cinema run. The Wild Geese (1978). I managed to watch it last night on an app called Watch Free UK. One of those movies that invites criticism galore but is just a simple way to wile away an couple of hours with tea and biscuits 6/10

Supertramp - Live 1997
Think this was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall. Double cd was released called It Was The Best Of Times but my streaming platform only has the single cd release. Lovely recording and playing. Mark Hart does a decent enough job singing the Roger Hodgson hits. Worth a listen

Lewis Taylor - Numb (2022). Much welcomed return to recorded music from cult singer/songwriter. It’s very much him dipping his toes back into a musical creative space. Worth checking out via Bandcamp #vinyl

Barclay James Harvest - Alone We Fly (1990). Got to wonder why this double compilation was released. Covers their 74-87 output with a few singles edits and unreleased live cuts. All good stuff but just a bit eclectic for the casual listener. Got this cheap on eBay hence my interest.

Just been to the Filmhouse for One Battle After Another in 70mm. Cant say seeing it on film was any better than in digital but it was some experience. Storytelling, photography and direction were incredible. Movie of the year, easily

Tonight’s gig XGenerationX at the Voodoo Rooms. Sunday night so it’s not the hottest crowd but I’m sure things will liven up. After all, most of us here don’t have work to go to tomorrow. Saw original band in Dundee at the Uni back in the day
Ready, Steady, Go

Never the biggest fan of ELP but I snagged an original #vinyl copy of their debut album recently and despite its age it plays rather well and is engaging me in a way that is surprising me

Usual slim pickings in the chazzas but managed to get this for £1. The polythene wrap came off nicely.
Animal Nightlife - Shangri-la (1985). Born from the London club scene in the early 80’s this has a cool funk/jazz vibe. It’s all a bit too cool for school but has its moments.

John Lees’ Barclay James Harvest - Live At Rosfest 2009 #np #cd
This came with new album, Relativity box set and it’s very worthy indeed, having Wooly Wolstenholme on keyboards and vocals.

I saw them in Dec 79 in Dundee with the Vapors supporting. Never imagined they would split up

Got me a s/h copy of The Jam - SNAP (no ep though)
A fine reminder of how brilliant they were and a perfect introduction if anyone is unaware of how majestic they were

One shoe sole and Filofax re-glued £5 👍

Morning chores accompanied by Rainbow - The Best of (1981). They had some brilliant vocalists up to this point. Each outstanding in their own way and reflected the material perfectly #vinyl

I raise you a slow cooker sausage casserole, with buttered mash and peas. Some german mustard on the side. Love comfort food

Been to a few gigs this year but undoubted highlight was Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew playing Remain In Light.
Always admired Harrison for this understated contributions to Talking Heads. Second solo album Casual Gods (1988) is a good place to start if unfamiliar. Packs a punch

Been a bit of a day.
Playing some albums to chill the night away.
Free - Highway (1970) #vinyl. Not everyone’s favourite album by them but one that can hit the spot when the time demands
