Husband, father, grandfather, and grateful for everything I have in life. Cat dad. Fanatic of Iron Maiden, Stephen King, and all other sorts of cool shit. Stay young!
Wish I lived somewhere on the coast of Maine, but I’m landlocked in Kansas!
I’ve had both of the illustrated books, The Plucker and The Devil’s Rose for years now, and love them. Finally got around to reading every one of his novels this month, and needless to say, I’ve got a new favorite author. Can hardly wait for his next.

Those generals could easily go down in history as the sole saviors of America by doing exactly what a huge majority of us have been hoping for them to do for some time. At this point I believe it’s about the only thing that can be done. Anyone reading this knows exactly what I’m talking about.

Too many things happening today are exactly what she's talking about. @ruthbenghiat.bsky.social nails it. Just sad it took me so long to find this video.

Trump's attack on our minds reduces our capacity for self-government because ignorance is the handmaiden of tyranny.

America is like a sleeping giant whose passion for democracy and social justice is fearless, once awakened.

The giant doesn’t awaken easily, but a nightmare can do it.

Repost with the first album you bought with your own money.

Not a fan now, but they were a big part of my musical childhood.

One chapter in on book three. Time to continue the journey a bit further.

Been on my TBR for quite some time. Finding it to be a rather arduous read. About two thirds through and all I keep coming back to is being pissed off at the religious zealots mistreatment of the bear for their crusade. Oh, I’m gonna finish it, but rooting for the bear to kill everyone.

Audiobooks while I work and paper books at home. Always going through two books at a time. Are there many of you that do the same?

Ok. This has sat on the TBR shelf for far too long. Time to crack a page or two.

On reading a book merely to get to the end…

“You are the grim, goal-oriented ones who will not believe that the joy is in the journey rather than the destination no matter how many times it has been proven to you.”

Is it just me, or do others tend to go back to the books that they love the most for multiple rereads?

I throw in new ones here and there, but then I am always saying to myself “man, I have to go read that again”.

Currently reading…

Thank you #booksky for reminding me of this trilogy I read some forty four years ago. It was one of the reason I fell in love with fantasy, which endures to this day. It’s taken me back to that thirteen year old me. I think the awesome smell of this old paperback helps!

My wife reads a lot more than I do. Her favorite is fantasy, but she actually reads anything and everything. I remember when she was reading this particular series, and she kept telling me I’d probably love it. I took it for one of her bodice ripper series. I. Was. Wrong. Loved it!

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.
