Two off-Broadway Tartuffes? I haven’t seen a match up this nail biting since the two Broadway Gatsby musicals!

"I love puppetry, I love musicals, and I love Little Shop of Horrors. Why don't I go see it more oft––it's because they don't have rush, that's why."

Every once and a while someone comments on a video of Lynn Ahrens singing "I didn't know Lynn Ahrens could sing" and I can't help but think "Some of y'all didn't grow up watching Schoolhouse Rock song compilations on VHS and it shows."

I recently played Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 and also have kind of figured out Photoshop. These two events are related.

Well, shit, I wouldn't have made it into the University of Chicago under this policy, and considering that I became the editor of the school newspaper and then the student ombudsperson for the university, maybe that would have been their loss.
Some of the most elite colleges in the US are making “civility transcripts” part of the admissions process.

Tone-policing as university policy.

Me: *standing in the Public lobby, minding my own business, waiting to get into Deep Blue Sound as a regular audience member*
Some random man who walks up to me: “Hey, did you see Sumo?”

At Cabaret yesterday, Cliff said his line “…if you’re not against all this then you’re for it. Or you might as well be”. The audience interrupted the scene to applaud that line so strongly it stopped the show. Doing a show about the onset of fascism right now is. . . chilling.

If I had a nickel for every musical I’ve seen adapted from a cult horror film featuring a perverted doctor who sings a song about how perverted he is shortly before dying, played by an actor known for leading man roles, I’d have two nickels.

Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Shocked that Schulz/Melendez/Mendelson never made one with this title.

They always ask “Who’s your daddy?” but never “*How*’s your daddy?”

I love that Geoff Keighley loves the Muppets so much he tries to get them to make an appearance at every Game Awards, and a bunch of people in the livestream chat try to shout “CRINGE” but are followed by an onslaught of people telling them to put some respect on the Muppets’ name.

Just want to reiterate that the show I make is called PUPPET History. That's "Puppet" with a "P". Just want to clarify that for no reason in particular.

I find it a bit dystopian that what feels like all of NYC theater is throwing its all behind one musical (which, caveat, is legit one of the best things I've seen this season) because what its potential closure could mean for original Broadway musicals unaffiliated with pre-existing IP.

I understand how the TikTok algorithm works in theory. I press like on a Whose Line Is It Anyway? video, I get a bunch of Whose Line videos. I go see Wicked, I get a bunch of Wicked videos.

It's the sudden onslaught of Ernest P. Worrell videos that I can't quite wrap my head around.

Some nights I think about that time I was out drinking in the West Village at 10pm with some non-NYC local friends who were like, “Oh, let’s go to 3 Dollar Bill! Is that nearby?”
