Art is a connection between people, the artist, crafter, creator, and whoever comes in contact with it. It’s what drew me to clay and ceramics. The long standing history with a medium than spans the ages of humanity. It has soul and connection.

Art is humanity and we don’t need to forget that.

These new BoOfriends made their debut at Lubbock-Con this past weekend in Lubbock, TX. This was our 3rd year doing this show! We cosplayed as Megumin and Kazuma from KonoSuba.

Making art to keep my sanity

Making art as an act of rebellion as a childless cat lady

Making art as an act of hope

Making art to bring people a moment of joy

Making art to confuse archeologist in the future of why someone made thousands of little ghost sculptures

More rainBoos coming soon!! My sister and husband organized all the boos by color at the Goblin Market.

The world is literally loosing color from cars, restaurants, clothes, interiors on homes and personally I want my life more colorful, not less.

So more colorful BoOfriends and art this year!

I took a few days off from the clay studio to recover from my show this past weekend. I’m learning to use procreate and draw on an iPad! I’m pretty excited about this little character and her cat! #artist #procreate #ceramicartist #illustration

Before and After Glaze firing, my experiment worked!

I mixed each Amaco celadon glaze with the glaze next to it in a 75/25, 50/50, & 25/75 % ratio. It was a time consuming process but well worth the experience! #ceramics #art #amacoglazes

Kiln is firing new pieces for the Goblin Market this Saturday!!

It’s important to take a breather from the news (not put your head in the sand). I know it’s heavy & overwhelming but your nervous system needs a break.

I’ll be here with more art and memes. Now go drink some water.

Timelapse of my first digital coloring sheet. Made with procreate ❤️

I now have an iPad!

I’ve been hand drawing my coloring sheets, tracing them on a 1960s/70s light table with a sharpie, then scanning them.

This is going to be a game changer. I’m actually going to be able to make coloring sheets, stickers, and other ideas I want to explore for the BoOfriends!!

Here is your social media doom scrolling break

Unclinch your jaw and relax your shoulders

Go drink some water

Turn on some music to dance and let some emotions out

Have a snack

I’ll be working on taking my own advice today as well.

Weekly ghost doodles are back!

How it works, on Sunday I will post the week’s theme. Add your ghost doodle in the comments on the weekly post.

I will be randomly picking a few doodles each week to sculpt!

This is just a fun way to be creative and have y’all be part of the BoOfriends creation!

I finally finished glazing the mini boos for this glaze mix experiment!

Did it take way longer than just picking 10 glazes and glazing all 100 boos at once? Yes, yes it did

Could this be an absolute failure? Absolutely

Would I do it again? Of course!

Kiln firing next week! Stay tuned!

Art vs the artist from 2024

I started this year off sick with covid so I am just barely getting back into my studio. Last year was the year of the BoOfriends and I plan to continue that this year. I have so many new ideas to explore. Weekly community ghost doodles will start back up this Sunday!

Testing out some new glaze mixing today. Amaco celadon glazes are mixable to create custom colors. I’m trying out 75/25, 50/50, and 25/75 mixes. The idea is to have a gradient of colors! My boos will go in the kiln next week before the Goblin Market at CASP 5 & J Gallery!

I started the new year sick with COVID. I sculpted the new little strawBoOberries right before I started feeling bad. Still coughing but hoping to be in the studio so I can glaze a few things for the Goblin Market.

The BoOfriends -an origin story pt 1

I started sculpting the Boos summer of 2023. I had been accepted again into a local Oddities Art Market and wanted to bring something new to the show. I was also learning to navigate chronic health issues and throwing pottery on my wheel was too exhausting.
