I am struggling to understand why policies like the Utah state lege's requiring institutional neutrality would be desirable when they tend to favor state power by providing a pretext to quash disagreement and debate.

@cwilliams.ksl.com More news from the SLC airport: bsky.app/profile/shan...
I'm shaking almost too hard to type. I entered SLC airport and heard screams and cries for help. I could see people gathered around, watching. I sped over to discover this woman face down on the floor, four grown men pushing her down, while she cried "HELP ME" and pled for her child.

The timing question should be separated from the motive behind these policies. It’s not student success; it’s making syllabi searchable by rightwing harassment campaigns and the state lege.

I don’t have a super informed take here, but uh, if a person somehow did accidentally get a Nazi tattoo, I am failing to imagine how that person’s immediate next action is not a solid black cover up at literally any tattoo shop that is not a Nazi shop. Some artists will do it for free.

House holds pro forma sessions every few days. Even today. It’s on their schedule! The purpose: meet Article I, Sec. 5 “three-day rule.” No gaps of more than 3 days are permitted without Senate OK. Two Florida Republicans were sworn in during pro forma earlier this year. So why not Adelita Grijalva?
