I write stuff that nobody wants to read, and I hang out with nerds. Cats and fiber arts take up the rest of my time.
Social media divides us and distracts us from our eternal responsibility to find ways to accept each other’s differences and live in community. If I knew you here, I hope someday we’ll meet IRL. This is my last post. May 2026 bring good things into your life.

I’m outta here at the end of the year. I have come to understand that social media’s harm is greater than its good.
To all y’all that I have gotten to know over the past 20-ish years, thank you for being who you are. I’ll miss you. Be true to yourself, be blessed, keep on doing what you do. ❤️

Quoting the oath is not sedition.
Quoting the training manual is not sedition.
Quoting the law is not sedition.

Following an unlawful order is unlawful. That was established at Nuremberg.

Buy local.
Shop small businesses. Buy local brands. Rediscover what it was like before billion-dollar corporations muscled out or bought their competitors.

Amazon is not a neutral player.
They know what you buy, what you search for and look at, how you pay, and where you live.
Jeff Bezos has all that information, and he has friends who might be interested in it.
Think about it.

If you are American, I recommend reading the Declaration of Independence.

Raindrops are small, but they make up every flood.

YOU MATTER.

I don’t know who needs to see this, but

You are enough. You matter.

I don’t know and I don’t need to know,
but if you are reading this,

it’s you.

Violets come up where they feel like growing. Their leaves are nice enough to be bedding plants, and the little butterfly-shaped flowers are elegant in their simplicity.
I am always grateful to see them in the springtime.

Batman is not coming.

Plant a vegetable garden. Make friends with your neighbors. Help someone today, even if it’s just picking up that item their toddler just threw out of the grocery cart.

We are all we’ve got, and we are enough.

When you wonder if you’re doing enough, remember that an orchestra needs many musicians playing different instruments.
Every note is important to the work.

You might have been doing the work without giving yourself credit for it. That can happen when you do things simply because they’re the right thing to do.
Doing small things counts. Sometimes you don’t realize that the small things are actually big things.
chastising yourself for what you havent been doing will not encourage you to accomplish your goal, it will encourage you to chastise yourself.

Check in with the people you care about.
Isolation and a sense of helplessness are control tactics.
Compassion and connection are how we resist.

Go to your local library and read the article “Cyborgs, superhumans, and cranks” in the March 22 2025 edition of The Economist.
Names mentioned in the article include Thiel, Musk, Altman, Bezos, BlackRock, and RFK Jr.

Yesterday I saw a T*sla that had its logo medallions removed and someone had put big adhesive letters across the back, saying

Little Free Libraries
but for vegetable seeds
March 9, 2025 at 4:16 PM
I dare you
to buy a packet of seeds - sunflowers maybe,
or how about zucchini?
and
Quick
push one or two into the dirt
whenever you go past a sunny spot outdoors
maybe in front of an office…
a store…
a government building
Anywhere you can sneak a couple seeds into the ground.

You keep on writing things that nobody else could write.
My hat is OFF to you.
The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.
