What a wonderful advocate you are, and an exemplar of decency and bravery. In healthier, happier times I loved you as a celebrator of the good, the weird, and the interesting. In times like these it’s inspiring that you also have the courage to stand up as a defender of those things too. Thank you

My brain seems to think that if we have multiple spatial dimensions, we must also have multiple time dimensions. I’ll look at my calendar entries crammed cheek to jowl and think “bullshit, you can fit more in there if some of you just turn sideways a bit.” Very hostile universe design in my opinion.

I know the "Bombs but with LGBTQI flags on them" meme and how everyone is the same, but there really is a practical, kinetic difference between leaders trying and failing (sometimes in horrific, bloody ways) to live up to their ideals and those for whom the horror and blood are the point.

I always like Pascal’s “All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.”

Ah Robin, you’re a legend! It was my girlfriend’s first QED and you were definitely one of her highlights. Your work in all its forms is excellent and beautifully humane. Also these days it’s just so vital to see a passionately decent person raising their voice.

Whenever I’ve heard them given the time and space to flesh out their “ideas”, it’s a real Wizard of Oz moment. Every time I find myself thinking, “Wait, is that it?” It’s always the sort of drivel that would embarrass an unprecocious undergrad.

The more you hear thiel talk the more you realise that his intellectual reach (and reputation) waaaaaay exceeds his grasp. Just like Musk. I guess once you achieve a certain level of wealth you’re liable to get sucked into a bubble of obsequious yes-men.

It was an absolute banger. My takeaway is that I reckon Engels would quite enjoy this episode, but that Marx would leave a 1 star review on apple podcasts accompanied by a 10,000 word essay on dialectic materialism structured around an explanation of why you are a pair of disgraceful bourgeois fools
