Aha, behold!
The coffee table as we found it, in front of a dumpster. The top is scuffed to hell and back. The finish is a lighter color, kind of orange in hue, and likely covered with polyurethane, judging by how hard it was to strip.

A 70s-era solid wood coffee table. There’s enclosed storage in the middle, and shelves on either side. The ends are bolstered by carved pillars. It’s been stripped of its original 70s finish, and sanded and stained with a nice provincial finish.

It is a truly excellent napping couch. The corduroy is SO SOFT!

It’s SO SOFT!! It is an excellent napping couch. Also, the cats love making biscuits with the pillows. It’s funny, the pics on Wayfair do not convey just how soft it is.

The first one we got broke after 48 hours so they had to send a replacement, but it IS super comfy and my husband is pretty handy and plans to do some reinforcing on it so this one doesn’t also break.
