I know we are exhausted from the no really this meets the textbook definition of fascism conversation, but exhibit G.

Back when the patriot act was passed, libraries were being asked to provide reading history's of customers and they said lol no, and that is why we don't track.

In case anybody was wondering, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library does not track your reading history. They have no idea what books you have checked out in the past. There is a way to turn on reading tracking but you have to make an account and turn it on yourself. The default is to have it off.

They knew I was a safe person to be their authentic selves with. And Mike DeWine has just absolutely destroyed that kind of trust. I don't recognize Ohio anymore. This is not the state I grew up in. I am heartbroken.

When I was teaching and doing programming in TPS, I had a ton of LGBTQ+ kids that were out to certain people only.Many of them were out to me, including trans kids.I knew how to use their real name in the safe space of our group and to deadname them to their families when I had to talk to a parent.
