It's not every day that an editor gets to be a true hero to her clients, but today is one of those days for me.

This week is the one-year anniversary of my book! I've spent the past year trying very hard to take my own advice from the book: stay mad, be annoying, find local community and deeply engage there. And it's been very fun to see groups of people reading the book as they start to get involved.

My mom and I spent a few hours at the rally to free Brad Lander today. Was really inspired to see dozens of public officials show up to talk about how NYC is a city of immigrants, made better by immigrants...1/x

Regal cat feels very regal on new throw pillows he’s claimed as his own.

Every day my cat hears me unfurl my yoga mat, and he comes running to aggressively head butt me to stop me from stretching and then lies down in the middle of the mat and purrs loudly. I can’t tell if he thinks it’s our special time or if he thinks he’s saving my life.

Really love our school doubling down on totally ignoring the anti-DEI nonsense from the administration

Welcome to the resistance, Wall Street Journal Weekend Edition. And someone should buy the photo editor who approved this spread a drink.

Middle kid is going on a field trip to watch a puppet show about immigration in NYC, so we made an immigration family tree. She had no idea that her great grandparents were from all over the place. Seems important to remind them that we were all immigrants here.

Reflected on my personal liberty and participation in free markets, took the WaPo and Amazon apps off my phone, feel great.

Kind of amazing to see this happen in my life time. When I was in grad school the US getting downgraded by Polity was inconceivable.

It was very reassuring to see hundreds/ thousands of people show up for trans rights in Union Square today. My seven-year-old is now running around yelling “stand up fight back!” Which is the energy we need.
