PS: I’m fine w/ govt transparency, efficiency & delivering better services. But when massive wholesale changes affecting millions are done without warning, leaving citizens & others in this world without homes, food, financial stability, or health care - it’s reckless & inhumane.

I don’t mind healthy policy debates- they are helpful. I mind alienating allies. I mind indiscriminate firings of thousands of workers. I mind creating needless suffering in the name of American dominance. That’s not leading. It’s bullying on a global stage. We are better than that.

I’m not happy about withdrawing from @who.int or the Human Rights Council or MANY of the things this administration has done & I won’t pretend to be.

News flash: humanitarian aid slows illegal immigration, stabilizes global conflicts, reduces drug & human trafficking & does in fact help the US. 3/

The President spewed partisan rhetoric, degraded Democrats, made up some crap about curing a disease that would wipe nations out, & then expected those on the left to thank him for it. That’s a gaslighting, middle school bully mindset. 2/

I will not celebrate hardworking Americans losing their job & benefits, nor be callous or indifferent to a family facing bankruptcy or eviction. These are our families, neighbors and friends. These are people who chose a life a service to their country - and this is no way to repay that. 3/3

These are often middle class fathers and mothers, veterans, young folks just starting out - and in roles like research, cybersecurity, and education. Will they find themselves on unemployment? Medicaid? Out on the streets? Nobody knows…because this hasn’t been thought through. 2/3
